Happy New Year!
The topic this week on The Three Muses Collage Challenge is "Colour Me Happy". They asked that our collages this week be based on a color or combination of colors that makes us happy. Anyone who has spent only a few minutes around The Tearoom would know that my favorite color is purple! But how many of you could guess what my second favorite color is? No, it isn't black (although it might be a very close third choice!!). My second favorite color is chartreuse! I love it as an accent in a lot of my collages, but especially along with purple. So, to me, the first place I know I can use both purple and chartreuse is in a garden!

Pansies and violets are some of my favorite flowers and since they were my mother's as well, I feel like I am waving to her each time I use them in my artwork. Also, as a friend in Paris reminds me, "Pansies are thoughts" as the word "pansy" in English is derived from "pensée" in French which means both pansy and thought!!
I know I am home here at The Three Muses for so many talented artists telling me how much they like purple and chartreuse together! I was in an interior design class in high school and when I told my teacher that I wanted to design rooms in those colors, she told me I should go have my eyes examined because I must be color-blind!!! Ha! What did she know??
